Samport SPECTER
Samport SPECTER’s core functionality manages several issues. Most importantly it warns the user if illegal or noncompliant contents are detected. Furthermore, it allows the user to configure user groups to allow certain contents in accordance with the acquirer’s policy. The system monitors the low risk contents and verifies that the proper MCC is used.
Samport SPECTER utilizes sophisticated software to scan and analyze the merchants´ web shop pages. The data mining function works 24/7 and performs a complete scan of the URL and its sub pages and links, ensuring that everything the merchant sells or advertises is controlled by the acquirer or the IPSP. The system runs a daily, untraceable scan and once a web page address is found containing illicit or noncompliant contents, a warning is displayed. All merchants with suspicious web sites are displayed in the user controlled interface.
Parallel to the contents scan, Samport SPECTER also traces the merchant’s service provider infrastructure. When a merchant is added, the system analyses the DNS, the host and e-mail service provider, complete with service provider name and country. This provides additional geographical information about the merchant.
The Samport SPECTER software also features a PCI DSS questionnaire function. The service is technically separated from the site scanning and is currently an additional feature in the system. This allows the merchants to complete the required self assessment questionnaire online.
