Data Mining
Samport SPECTER utilizes sophisticated software to scan and analyze the merchants´ web shop pages. The data mining function works 24/7 and performs a complete scan of the URL and its sub pages and links, ensuring that everything the merchant sells or advertises is controlled by the acquirer or the iPSP. The system runs a daily, untraceable scan and once a web page address is found containing illicit or noncompliant contents, a warning is displayed. All merchants with suspicious web sites are displayed in the user controlled interface.
The acquirer can get a more detailed view of the merchant, and the specific web pages that triggered the warning are displayed in separate lists with the web pages clickable for a closer inspection of the offending contents. This allows the credit team to quickly detect unwanted goods or services, such as adult contents, alcohol, illicit drugs, gambling etc. The acquirer has the option of approving a link if it is considered compliant, or if the warning is in fact a false positive. Once the particular link has been approved, it will not trigger a warning again unless its contents is changed.
